Marina Collard is a multidisciplinary artist working independently and collaboratively in the areas of painting, performance and video.

Drawing on themes from domestic and the public life, she finds beauty in the mundane, evoking associations to familiar, but imagined situations, places and spaces. Her commitment to blurring boundaries between the real and imagined, along with the cohesion of disparate elements leads to creating structures for things to coexist and collide with varying degrees of comfort and discomfort. While capturing the fragility and complexity of being human in the face of cultural, social and political worlds, Collard’s insight into emotional and psychological worlds is presented with warmth and humour.
